Hugo Gatti, the former Argentine goalkeeper, and Boca Juniors goalkeeper believe that Barcelona's Lionel Messi should join Real Madrid to prove he is the best in the history of football.

"It will look like I'm against the Argentines, but until Messi performs strongly in the big games, he will only be a player for the matches on his home soil," Jati said in a press statement.

"He has to be a man and go to Real Madrid and prove everything as Cristiano Ronaldo did, either he's just going to be a regular player."

"Cristiano went to the best clubs in the world, and Messi only plays at home, and on the pitch where everything he wants for him comes."

The 75-year-old continued his attack on Leo, concluding by saying, "I want him to play in the Champions League or the World Cup or he will be a regular player who has passed."

"Messi only performs when everything is in his favor at home and on his home ground, and it's really easy."

Messi has won 10 La Liga titles with Barcelona, four Champions League titles, most recently in 2015 at the expense of Juventus, as well as six Spanish Cup titles.

It should also be noted that Messi has won the Ballon d'Or for the best player in the world six times ahead of the five-ball Ronaldo, but the 32-year-old failed to win any international title with Argentina and only reached the final of the World Cup and Copa America and lost them.
