Real Madrid and Spain captain Sergio Ramos continued his journey towards breaking records after the goal he scored against Leganes last Wednesday night.

Real Madrid beat Leganes by five goals to none, in a match in which Ramos scored the third goal and his first goal in La Liga this season.

After more than a few days ago he played in the Spanish national team in history by breaking the record set by goalkeeper Iker Casillas, Ramos returns to break the numbers with the Real Madrid shirt.

With this goal against Leganes, Sergio Ramos became the first player in Real Madrid's history to score in 16 consecutive league seasons since Francesco Gento.

Ramos is close to the historic record, if he scored in the next three seasons, to break the record set by Ganeza, who has scored in 19 consecutive seasons.

At La Liga level, FC Barcelona legend and current Netherlands coach Ronald Koeman is the most scoring player in La Liga history with 69 goals.

At present, Sergio Ramos has 62 goals for Sevilla and Real Madrid in La Liga and is only seven goals off the record.

Sergio Ramos has received the captain's badge for Spain and Real Madrid after receiving it from the historic goalkeeper Iker Casillas.
