Real Madrid tried to include Mbappe as a child

Mbappe was a heavy guest at the Bernabéu on Tuesday night

Reports have revealed that Real Madrid and coach Zinedine Zidane have tried to sign Kylian Mbappe, the star of Paris Saint-Germain, on two occasions several years ago.

The French star starred on Tuesday evening in the draw between Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid with two goals from each side for the Champions League.

"Diario AS" reported that current Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane advised the royal team to include Mbappe in 2012, and he was 13 years old at the time.

Mbappe then visited Real Madrid's headquarters and took commemorative photos with first-team players, but chose to join Monaco, explaining his decision that he would prefer to stay in France.

The second time Madrid tried to include the Frenchman was in 2017, and the newspaper explained that the agreement had been made between Monaco and the Spanish club, but the taxes due for the deal ruined it.

The value, according to "Diario AS", was 180 million euros, but increased to 240 due to taxes, so that Real Madrid backed away from completing the deal, according to leaks reported by the newspaper.

Mbappe's contract with PSG current extends until 2022.
