Eriksen chooses to move to Real Madrid

Tottenham's Christian Eriksen has chosen to join Real Madrid in the upcoming summer transfer market, press reports revealed on Saturday afternoon.

The Danish midfielder entered the final year of his contract with the North London club, having rejected some attractive offers from Tottenham to renew his contract in recent months.

The 27-year-old has decided to end his contract with Tottenham and join Real Madrid on a free transfer deal in the summer of 2020, according to Italian newspaper CalcioMercato.

Eriksen has turned down numerous offers from top clubs in Italy and England.

The newspaper pointed out that this news is disappointing for the big clubs in Serie A such as Inter Milan and Juventus who were keen to sign the Danish playmaker in January.

Eriksen joined Tottenham in the summer transfer market in 2013 when he was playing for Dutch club Ajax, and the deal has been agreed for up to 13.5 million euros.

The midfielder has since played a total of 295 games for Tottenham in all competitions, and has so far scored 68 goals and made 88 assists in total.
