Eden Hazard admits holiday transgressions - 'gained five kilograms'

Real Madrid forward Eden Hazard has admitted to letting himself go while on holiday and piling on the pounds after signing for the Spanish giants within the close season last year.

The Belgium international, who signed for Real from Chelsea for a joint-club record €100 million in June, raised eyebrows when he reported for preseason training packing some extra weight.

"It's true, I cannot lie, if I'm on holiday, then I'm on holiday," Hazard told Belgian magazine Sport/Foot.

"I placed on five kilos within the summer. I'm one among those people that placed on weight very quickly then loses it very quickly.

"When I used to be at Lille I weighed 72 kilos, on the other hand, I gained muscle and visited 75 kilos. On a nasty day, I can weigh 77. within the summer I went up to 80 kilos but I lost it again 10 days later."

Perhaps set back by his extra weight, Hazard, 28, made a slow start to his Real career and didn't score his first goal until a 4-2 convert Granada in October.

He began to hit form soon after but he has been out of action since injuring his ankle during a 2-2 draw with Paris Saint-Germain within the Champions League on Nov. 26.
