Mauricio Pochettino arouses interest manchester united and Real Madrid as the Argentine awaits next action

Mauricio Pochettino is currently out of labor as Manchester United and Real Madrid still be linked with appointing Argentina.

Mauricio Pochettino has teased potential interest in taking up at Manchester United or Real Madrid soon, insisting “England and Spain are the two best leagues within the world” as he made a public appearance in London on Wednesday night.

The former Tottenham boss was among several special guests, including Gustavo Poyet and Guillem Balague, for the launch of LaLigaTV to British media at Village Underground, with the new channel being launched on Sky and Virgin Media because of the UK’s first dedicated channel showing all live matches and 24/7 content from Spain’s top flight.

Pochettino was attending alongside his wife, Karina, also as former Spurs assistant manager Jesus Perez, also as ex-goalkeeping coach Toni Jiminez, per football.london.

The Argentine has rarely been spotted on British shores since being sacked by Spurs in November, having hung out away from the game.

All the while, the 47-year-old remains linked with taking up the Manchester United and Real Madrid jobs.

Both positions are occupied by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Zinedine Zidane respectively, but Pochettino has been tipped to require over at Old Trafford or the Bernabeu throughout his managerial career.

And now, the highly-rated tactician has offered a touch on where his next job could also be.

"I am now trying to observe tons of football and spend time with my family. It's good that I'm free for the subsequent two weeks [to take up the LaLigaTV free for a fortnight offer)," he said.

"As for La Liga, I'm Argentino, but half Argentino and half Spanish, Catalan. an honest mix.

“For me, I used to be so lucky to start out my career as a manager in Espanyol in Barcelona then to return here to the Premier League to England, to find out English and different cultures.

"Of course, I'm a better person today with more knowledge. I'm living a great experience.

“The Premier League is that the Premier League, but I feel it is a great opportunity for the people within the UK to be fans of Los Angeles Liga and have very close contact.

"Of course football was born here in England but La Liga has amazing football and amazing coaches.

“Today it is a reference of players, a reference of coaches and therefore the football within the last 20 years that are shown around the world.

"Like a coach, with Gustavo, we always attempt to be within the best place. I feel England and Spain are the two best leagues within the world."

Asked what it might deem him to return to the Spanish league, former Espanyol coach Pochettino joked: “Sorry, I don’t understand the question!”

Meanwhile, transfer expert Duncan Castles has claimed Pochettino would be very curious about taking the United job was Solskjaer to be dismissed.

“There were talks with Pochettino before Jose Mourinho was appointed,” Castles said on Reach PLC’s Transfer Window Podcast, alluding to an approach United made to the South American back in 2016.

“Pochettino is curious about that job, has been interested in an extended time.

“At that time during which Mourinho got the work, he was skeptical about whether it had been the proper time in his career to maneuver there, so he didn’t push hard to be made Manchester United manager at that time.

“He felt the work could be too demanding in terms of the transfer market, requirements of adjusting the team in terms of the quality of the scouting staff there, and in terms of the exposure that’s involved in being the Manchester United manager.

“I’m not hearing from his camp that he has equivalent reservations now. I’m considerably hearing that that’s one among the jobs he’s curious about taking.”

Beyond The Pitch host, Phil Brown meanwhile claimed of Pochettino on his podcast: “He doesn’t want the work until the summer.

“He demands a director of football guaranteed and therefore the director of football can't be Ed Woodward.

“He wants full freedom of first-team matters, including who are often sold, [and] wants Ed Woodward to step away from anything football in the least and funds to be made available for purchases.”
