What challenges does the Real Madrid captain want to meet in 2020?

Sergio Ramos, the Real Madrid captain, will enter 2020 with great dreams and aspirations to present him with the royal club and the Spanish national team.

Although the 33-year-old has won all possible tournaments with Real Madrid and Spain, he still has a chance to do more in the new year.

The Spanish newspaper "Marca" posed 10 challenges for Ramos to be presented in the following report:

#1 fourth most involved player with Real Madrid

Ramos can become the no.4 player in the most-shared Real Madrid standings in history if he has played only 17 games with the Royals in 2020. The captain has played 628 games so far.

Raúl González is the most involved with Real Madrid with 741 appearances, followed by Casillas with 725 games, and Manolo Sánchez with 710 appearances.

#2 lifting the local title

Ramos has won La Liga four times in his career but only lifted the title as Captain of the Royals in the 2016-17 season and this may be his chance to lift the title again.

Ramos has already won the Spanish Super Three times in 2008, 2012 and 2017 and has a chance to crown the first version of the four-way tournament in January.

Real Madrid will face Valencia in the semi-finals and the winner faces the victor of Barcelona and Atlético Madrid.

#3 renovation

Ramos' contract expires in the summer of 2021 and he is expected to sign his new and possibly final contract with Real Madrid before the end of the year.

#4 the best in Europe

Although Ramos has won four Champions League titles, he has only lifted three royal leaders and if he wins in 2020 he will become the first captain in history to lift the ears four times.

Ramos is currently on par with Franz Beckenbauer, who lifted the trophy for three consecutive years between 1974 and 1976 with Bayern Munich and Carles Puyol, the Barcelona legend, who carried the trophy in 2006, 2009 and 2011.

#5 defender scorer

Ramos has 62 la Liga goals with Real Madrid and two goals for Sevilla with a total of 64 goals.

The most scoring defender in la Liga at the time is Ronald Koeman, the former Barcelona player with 67 goals and although Hierro has scored 105 goals in la Liga, he has played for a long time in midfield.

#6 penalty kicks.

Ramos has not wasted a penalty with Real Madrid since he missed a kick against Sevilla in May 2018 and scored 16 goals.

Although he missed a kick in front of Leganes, the referee returned it so that the captain could convert it to a goal.

#7 free kicks.

The 33-year-old has not scored a free-kick since 2014 and has historically only two free-kicks.

In 2005 he scored a goal for Sevilla against Real Madrid and the other against Valladolid in 2014 and could be his chance to score a third goal in 2020.

Real Madrid's last free-kick was the signing of Danny Cebayos in January 2019 against Real Betis.

#8 Spain's first international championship

Ramos won the European Championship in 2008 and 2012 as well as the World Cup in 2010 but in all these tournaments Iker Casillas was the leader.

Sergio could win his first title as Spain's captain once euro 2020 is lifted.

#9 overtook Buffon internationally

Gianluigi Buffon is the most played player in 176 European international matches, while Ramos has 170 international appearances and can overtake the Juventus goalkeeper.

#10 Olympic scoring.

Despite all Ramos' achievements, he has never won an Olympic medal in his history, and since he will join the Olympic team at the Tokyo Olympics, his chances of winning the title may be.
