What did Olivier Giroud say, the Chelsea star commenting on the statements of Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema about him?
The French player Olivier Giroud of Chelsea responded to the recent statements of his compatriot Karim Benzema, the scorer of Real Madrid.This came in a statement quoted by the newspaper "Sport" about the star Chelsea and came brief but at the same time harsh on Karim Benzema.
Benzema had come out on a live broadcast to answer questions from fans and when asked about Giroud he said he was like a toy car to him, while he was representing Formula 1 car.
Benzema drew his remarks afterward, stressing that he did not mean any insult to the Chelsea star, but that is the truth as he is like a game car for Ronaldo phenomenon.
Giroud's response focused on his place in the France national team, which he compared to Benzema's and said: "Well, I'm like a toy car, but I'm a world cup car."
Benzema has suffered exclusion from the French national team in recent years and did not make it to 2018 when the team won the World Cup at the expense of Croatia.
Giroud has 39 goals for France in 97 international appearances, while Benzema has scored 27 goals in 81 appearances.
